Yesterday Alex and I both wagged work and took a scatterday. Wonderful day! After a lazy morning about the house we went out for coffee, then drove out to pick up the new fish for the tank. My tank is now very full and colourful and wonderful to watch :-) I have Pacific Blue eyes and fly-specked hardyheads, New Guinea rainbowfish and local perchlets, empire gudgeons and bristlenose catfish. Contentment <3 We spent the afternoon lounging, drinking fancy French champagne we were given as an engagement gift, and snuggling when it wasn't too hot. Went to visit Peter in the evening - who was in hospital for surgery on a hernia - and found his surgery had been postponed due to a suspected blood clot, so just had a good chat before turning home via kebabs in West End.
Life is going pretty well at the moment. New meds have made a world of difference and it's nice to be feeling a bit more like me again. Getting my bbbbounce back and getting interested in life a bit more. Baked rhubarb and nutmeg muffins on Saturday (rhubarb is seriously underrated), and Greybags came to visit for the afternoon, which was wonderful =) We watched Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, so it seems somewhat fitting that I finally saw it the day before Hunter S. died. The video shop required a $50 deposit on the DVD - apparently it's so popular it doen't get returned (also, it only comes in region 1 - you can't buy a region 4 copy!). Tried to burn a copy but the security was better than us.
Work is work is work is work but isn't getting to me so much now. Bribing my coworkers with chocolate has helped open them a little more to me and they're starting to grasp my quirky humour. I am nowhere near as serious as I can sometimes seem =) Still having issues rediscovering my work ethic, but some blue sky soul searching over the weekend helped me understand the reasons why. I have a much better grasp of what motivates me now, which should help me move forwards (or at least away from the stinky rut I'd fallen in). A scatterday was very much worth the discoveries made. Did I mention Alex and I celebrated our 5th anniversary on Sunday? Five years of official coupledom! Next thing you know I'll be an old married woman! ;-)
