A little armchair adrenaline

Ever heard of "El Caminito Del Rey"? It's an old footpath in Spain, built between 1901 and 1905 during construction of a hydroelectric scheme. The path was upgraded in 1921 to allow the King of Spain to tour the completed dam works, which is how it got it's name (the king's pathway).

It's fallen into pretty bad repair these days, and the local government has destroyed the access points to the walkway to stop people walking the path. This hasn't exactly deterred the adrenaline junkies that come to pit themselves against the crumbling path. For those who, like me, prefer to experience vertigo from the comfort of their armchair, one climber has made this excellent video of his journey along el Caminito...

You can find more photos of the path, including some great historical images, here: http://cellar.org/iotd.php?threadid=17487
