Light magic

Another lazy weekend morning, another trip to Togninis. We met blue_kitten at the cafe, chatting at an outside table where I noticed the light. For the last two weeks we had a lot of rain and what was brown is now vibrant green. The sky, washed clean was a magnificent, clear and rich blue. Perfect colour. I have never wished so hard for infrared film before!

After we parted company, Alex and I headed down the road to a local landmark I'd though would be interesting to photograph.

Sadly, it was past midday and the sun was on the wrong side of the sky, washing out and shading the . This is where they've brewed Queensland beer for 125 years (and it still tastes awful): XXXX. Yes, that's right, XXXX, or fourex, which says a lot about literacy in Queensland 125 years ago!

Ah well, it wasn't that interesting to photograph anyway. Angles were limited and the traffic on Milton Road was unpleasant, so we turned around and headed back to the car. I was hot and thirsty, so we headed for home. Except the light was still perfect, and I had an idea...
