(no subject)

Blah. Defeated (for now) by the oven & stove of fail and a bathroom tap that just won't budge. With the bathroom water pressure problem i'm hopeful I can convince the landlord to send a plumber. With the fail-stove I don't know what to do: it's not broken, just utter shite. I love to cook and have successfully tamed all sorts of cookers including one so old it may have qualified for heritage listing buy this one is utterly impossible to cook on. Beyond buying my own unit and chucking this one in storage I'm all out of ideas but I can't last a year with this thing so something must be done. *sigh*

Also, the previous tenants apparently enjoyed marinating in their own filth. I've started cleaning and holy fuck! Some of the surfaces in the kichen can't have been cleaned in years. Paint has come up several shades lighter. *shudder* Next up is the bathroom, where the shower needs a damn good scrubbing.

Meanwhile i've booked a yard maintenance guy to come to get the garden into a manageable state and remove some of the piles of crap out there. If I wait til I can get to it I'm never going to get the gardens under control. I'm not sure how much that's going to cost me and can't help thinking that the landlord really ought to be paying for it.

Gods I'm sick of renting.
