Earthcore Pt 1

So, the weekend before last was Earthcore Queensland. Earthcore is a big electronic (hippy) music festival held each year in the countryside in rural Victoria. This year, someone decided Queensland should get a go, so we had our own mini-doof.
Alex and I were asked to volunteer at the festival for RaveSafe. Could we ever say no? So, along with
bird_e, off we went to be crowd care volunteers at my very first doof. The party started in stormy circumstances on Friday night, but we weren't due until Saturday afternoon. So Friday night we got our gear organised, and discovered we really needed a new tent. So Saturday morning we set off up the highway via the tent shop and bought ourselves a portable mansion.
We were the first RaveSafers there, so we pitched out tent in priority camping as instructed (and discovered "prioriy" = really close to loud stage playing music all night). But that was ok: we were camped next to Simon Posford and acorss the road from the Vinyl Slingers. Once the others arrived, we shirted up and took ourselves for a wander over to the punter's (quieter) camp ground.

There were more tents than at first it seemed, though they were mostly empty. We wandered around, essentially just letting people know RaveSafe was in attendance and enduring the usual smart-arsed comments (save me RaveSafe! I need saving!). I learnt that hippies are experienced campers and admired their decor as we wandered along.

From the camp side to the stages was a fair stroll up a bloody big hill. There was also a shuttle bus running back and forth. That is, until the drivers decided partying was more important than driving. So the trippers were climbing up and down all night. The view for the top over the camp site was nice though.

But what was at the top???
