So I finally got around to watching the final in the Lord of the Rings series - Return of the King. Is it just me, or did this film strike anyone else as a complete and total gay-fest? I was crying out for Sam to just get it over and go the pash on Frodo! And then the 3 hobbit huddle on the bed at the end, I mean, come on! But seriously, this film was quite the disappointment. The first film I thought was very good and mostly did justice to the book. The second film I found a little slow with too many meaninful glances and an overly-wussy Frodo, but I figured that was just middle-film syndrome and they'd get back on track with the 3rd film. But no, the 3rd film was worse yet, with pretty much the whole movie consisting of lingering camera shots at meaninful facial expressions, slow motion sequences and a general overwhelming "gayness". Gay can be quite good, but not really in a Tolkien epic and not when the objects of desire are 4 ft high and remarkably child-like :-P.

Bah, chalk it up with the final Matrix movie as a let-down in comparison to the 1st. At least I didn't waste any money on either at the cinema :-) Oh, and what was going on at the end of the film?? Aren't they supposed to reveal that Gandalf, Galadrial and elfin Agent Smith have the other 3 rings of power, or did I just iumagine that that happens in the book? Anyway...
