I'm in a net cafe in Salamanca, Hobart. I'm tired, still a little sick and a little lonely but otherwise I'm doing well. I have a couple of paper entries to transpose once I get home.

The conference went well, my presentation was relatively painless and I met many wonderful, like-minded people who have given me hope that we will get there (in terms of effective ecological water management). I have also discovered that I want to work for Melbourne Water (hello guaranteed funding!).

Drove from Launceston to Hobart with a collegue, taking the scenic route and the best part of a day. We had a very quick visit to Freycinet National Park, to which I wish to return to explore thoroughly. Hiring a car is sending me broke but it's awfully nice to have my freedom.

Staying with a 96yr old isn't the easiest of accomodations, but I do love Aunt Anne and am glad to spend time with her while I can. I'm very much looking forward to a real bed, a decent shower and food that actually requires chewing, however. hopefully a better night's sleep tonight will see me firing tomorrow. I could use some younger company however.

Home on Wednesday, not looking forward to the heat after the beautiful cool Spring weather, but very much looking forward to being home with the one I love.
