Of all the days to forget to bring my CD's to work. Grrrr - I need some music!

Somewhat recovered from Sunday's excursions and exertions. Had a great time working for RaveSafe and will definately be doing it again. The Big Day Out is definately an experience! 50 000 people partying on from 10am to 11pm in the summer heat at an outdoor festival. Most people were fantastic! Happy, friendly and reasonably well-behaved :-) Yes, there were a lot of people that went too hard too soon and didn't account for the sun and heat (I just don't understand all the people that turned up without hats or sunscreen) and had to be scraped off the ground and left to pull themselves together in our tent, but they were fewer than I expected and none of them left in an ambulance.

Spent from 10:30am until 11pm out spraying the crowd almost constantly - simply could not get enough water in to where it was needed (event organisers desperately needed to provide more water points and more toilets!). Although hard work, spraying people with water was good fun - everybody loved us. At times it was a little over-whelming as too many people wanted water at once, but I survived ;-) Got lots of random hugs and kisses and told how fantastic we are, which I'll take any day =D In the end my hands were very swollen from lugging big spray bottles (I had one in each hand - fighting florentine), but other than that just tired, achey muscles and a couple of blisters. Alex worked one of the big backpack sprayers and has nasty welts on his back from it. RaveSafe was all packed up by midnight but it took us another hour to get out of the carpark with everyone else leaving and the big semi's coming in to pick up the trailers.

Got home at half past 1 (scary drive - never doing that again) to a much needed shower and complete unconsciousness for 7 hours. Woke up, ate breakfast then crashed out for nearly another 4! Yesterday was spent being exhausted/asleep while wonderful Alex cleaned my manky oven and started getting the new PC up and running. Much, much love for that boy <3 Also a shout out to [livejournal.com profile] wilso, who is an absolute legend and complete cuddle-fiend, and a big hello to [livejournal.com profile] erinito - so good to see you again and best of luck with uni girl! Wish I'd been able to take the camera, as excellent photo opportunities abounded, but I was far too busy to go photo-missioning anyway.

Just about time for a second coffee now: came in early this morning to get lots of work done but have been unable to drag my brain out of hiding so far. Thankful it's a holiday tomorrow, even if I do have to spend it with my parents :-p Just praying they don't fight...

P.S. The Music, Eskimo Joe, The Freestylers, Kid Koala, Carl Cox, Spiderbait and the Polyphonic Spree - hell yes! (missed the Streets though - too damn busy).
