Been a while since a real journal-y entry, so here we go... Monday Alex and I ditched work for sleep, recovering from the exertions of RaveSafe at the Big Day Out. I spent more than half the day asleep and did precious little. Tuesday we both ventured back to work for a very long day before heading into the Valley after 6pm to meet some friends of friends for drinks which extended into dinner. Home by 10 and sound asleep :-)

Wednesday morning we hit the housework at full speed, not at work due to being Australia Day. Got a tonne done before my parents arrived at 12:30 for lunch. I made a salad (roast pumpkin & fetta) while Dad cooked us a birthday lunch of chicken, prawn and scallops. Gifts were exchanged, with Alex receiving a little MP3 player. I scored a tripod (++) and an electric grill cooker (anyone want?), then a DVD viewed before they let us be and we drew a deep breath and relaxed.

Thursday was another very long day, with my project team embarking once more for Toowoomba and a Project of Doom (TM) workshop. Dinner in the pub with collegues and a couple of birthday vodkas before spending a lonesome night in another motel room. Friday was back to Doom-works, and it finally all came together! All the peices fell into place - the process I've developed worked and all the regional folk finally got their heads around the ideas! Still a bit of tweaking and thinking to do, but for the most part my process is now a success and the end of this project (now 5 months late) is finally in sight! This is a very good situation =D

Drove back with collegues on Friday afternoon (we even finished early) via the best local produce store en-route (9c/kg grapes!), arriving home tired but satisfied by 5:30pm. Got myself re-aquanted with the boy and generally chilled out. Missing of the sleep window resulted in last night's entry - the new PC (Athon 64 3000 - mmm mmmm!) having been set up in dribs and drabs over the last week (nearly finished now). Reasonably early start again today with a venture to the flower markets - I have some sunflowers and a big boquet of purple-blue hydrangeas that resembles a mass of butterflies :-) Off to the physio to have knee problems seen to, then a domestic frenzy ensued before guests arrived for a lunch-time barbeque. A relaxed and enjoyable affair where too much food was consumed. Cleaned and tidied (and sorted computer stuff - I have sooo many redundant CDs), showered and recieved a massage from Cuddles to loosen my very sore shoulder.

For now, maybe a bite to eat and a quiet, early night. Tomorrow is the boy's birthday and the pseudo-plan is a trip up-river for fish collecting, driving lessons and picnicing. We'll see how we go, but whatever we do it will be relaxed :-) Enjoy your weekend guys!
