Well, what an awesome weekend!
katmeowster arrived on Thursday night and left on Saturday afternoon. Another fantasitc person I've met throught he wonder of the internet, though sadly another that lives too damn far away! Anyway, back to the weekend... Finished work by 3pm on Friday and came home and chilled. Headed out to Chinatown for dinner Friday night with Alex, Kat and Brett. An average (but overly-plentiful) dinner was followed by collecting Ailsa and some vodka and a chilled night at ours, seeing as all parties bar my guest were pretty wiped. Saturday Alex worked in the morning. Kat and I took the citycat down-river to Newfarm where we sussed out the local markets then ventrued into the Powerhouse to see the Tim Page photography exhibition, which was extremely powerful and moving. I urge any Brisbane people to make the effort to go see it (it's free of charge too!). While we digested the images we walked up to the Valley and grabbed some lunch while exploring the Valley markets. Alex came to collect us after work and we raced home to collect Kat's things, did a flying tour of Mt. Coot-tha and dropped our wonderful visitor off at the airport.
The boy and I then headed back to the Valley to buy a new keyboard to replace my old, beer-stickied erganomic. We indulged in a Boost juice and wadered about the Chinese New Year celebrations before heading home. I crashed out for an hour with a touch of heat stroke while the ever-wonderful boy tracked down the source of a horrible stench in the fridge. Later we headed out for fish & chips, then icecream! A late-ish night, but pretty tame :-)
Today I went for a most successful driving lesson that also incorporated buying some lovely new additions for the fish tank as well as ordering the natives I've been trying to catch for the last 6 months. Also cleaned said fish-tank, pottered about and spent some quality time with the boy. Baked a lime & poppyseed cake, which I've just pulled out of the oven, and Alex has just arrived with take-away curry for dinner =) Time to eat!
