St. Stevens Church, Brisbane City
Today has been just lovely. =o) I took the day off work as time-off-in-leu from doing overtime last week. It was a much-needed break to catch up on errands and sleep. After a long sleep-in and a relaxed morning, I headed into the city to spend too much of my dosh.
First stop was the chocolate store on Adelaide Street. Beautiful European-style chocolates in a surprising array of flavours. I bought a small assortment for Alex and I, then popped in next door for a coffee. Wandered on down to the Queensland Transport centre next to Saint Stevens to get my boat licence. Work paid for three of us to do the training yesterday, and after doing figure-of-eights on the Brisbane River, I'm legally allowed to go boating out into open water! The beaches of south-east Queensland will no longer be safe! Business sorted, I wandered back toward the Mall and spent lots of money at the Perfect Potion. I bought a large bottle of base oil and 3 new fragrances. Anyone wanting massage oils for Christmas, get your order in now!
As if I hadn't spent enough money, I then went into Rockinghorse Records, emerging with the Waifs 2CD live album. Had some very ordinary sushi for lunch, then ambled back to the station and on to home.

Up, up and away!
Once I got home I made some important phone calls and checked the weather for storms. With the weather all clear (cancelled severe weather warning), I leashed the Callie-dog and walked over to Rosalie to see a man about some (deleted) data. Walked back home, showered and nattered for a bit before walking down to Park Road to pick up a ring from the jewellers. I have a beautiful ring that belonged to my great aunt that I wanted valued. The day I was given it I dropped it on the road and chipped one of the stones. =o( It's a beautiful ring, about 60 years old. And it's worth $$$$! I think I'll be too scared to wear it now I know how much it's worth, and that's *with* the chip.
Alex met me at Park Road and we adjourned to the cafe for coffee (Alex) and gelati (me). On to home then, via the green-grocer, and a dinner of pumpkin and mushroom risotto with green beans and regiano cheese, ably assisted by a glass of cabernet-shiraz-merlot from my (quickly vanishing) Spring mixed dozen. Now I'm listening to the Waifs and savouring the divine chocolates. Tomorrow I'm back to work.
