Let's start with news: Dad got out of hospital on Thursday and has started down the long, winding road to recovery.

I've had a burst of photographic inspiration lately. I can't focus at work for the shot ideas and regrets (if only I'd known how to do this at that location...). I blame Flickr. Take a look at my contacts list to see some of the undeniably brilliant photographers currently inspiring me. I'm off on field work as of next week, so hopefully I'll squeeze in some photographic opportunities.

Speaking of field work, I went to the doctor's today to get a tetanus booster in preparation. Turns out I couldn't have it since I had the chicken pox vaccine last week (and have consequently come out in a lovely poxy rash), but they did give me a flu vaccine for free. Apparently Qld Health recommended it in case I come into contact with horses, because the human flu vaccine can protect against equine flu, which they're desperately trying to contain. A little odd, but at least it was free. I also had another blood test on Saturday: the veins wouldn't come out to play; as a consequence the back of my hand bears a large green bruise. In six more weeks I go for the chicken pox follow-up and have the tetanus shot too. I can hardly wait.
