A Canberran Magnolia
Dec. 10th, 2007 01:25 pmFlickr access is back! It seems the IT guys love me. Must be the Astro Boy shirt I sometimes wear... (in all seriousness, I think they read this here journal. *waves*)
Monday, and my boss is at the corporate golf day and won't be in until after 2pm. I've taken the opportunity to organise myself, since my stationary order came in today and I now have folders! And funky pens!
My alarm clock somehow failed this morning. Alex woke me 10 minutes before we were due to leave for my 8:30am appointment. Minutes later the neighbours knocked and launched into a dialogue about their ant infestation and needing access to our side of the fence to spray. We quickly pointed out the lack of gates, told them to go for it and raced out the door.
Alex dropped me in the city and as I waited for the elevator I noticed my watch was half an hour slow. Strange, since it seemed fine yesterday... Into the lift with a half-dozen others and we discovered the lights were off and I had a dark ride to the 22nd floor. An inauspicious start to the day? Not really.
After my slightly short appointment (I was a few minutes late) Alex collected me and we escaped the madness of the CBD at 9am for a quiet cafe. After a sizeable but ordinary breakfast he dropped me at work and here I am, sorrounded by hole-punch confetti and cold coffee.
Two weeks and counting...
