Rough plans are in place for our upcoming Melbourne adventures.

We arrive late this Friday night, and will be staying at K&L's for the weekend. No fixed plans have been made for this weekend, though [livejournal.com profile] nurseysarah is heading to a doof and we may tag along.

On Monday we collect Webby from the airport and shift our base of operations to a hotel on Southbank. We'll be spending Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday running around the city exploring and generally enjoying being somewhere with more than 200 000 people. We are free to meet folks for lunches, after-works and evening adventures.

We don't have fixed plans for Thursday-Friday yet, but a day or over-night trip to Daylesford or one of the wine regions is on the cards.

Friday night we'll be back in the city, and likely back at K&Ls for the weekend.

Saturday the 4th we'll be joining nurseysarah & zenandtheart on a sojurn to St. Andrews market, followed by an afternoon & evening of socialising and cooking as Miss Manda's place. Plans are afoot to head along to My Aeon afterwards to get our dance on.

Sunday the 5th will be a fairly quiet one as we have to be up at ricockulous o'clock on Monday morning for the flight home.

We'll both have our phones on us, so if you're keen to catch up please give one of us a call to organise something.

Looking forward to spending lots of time with all you wonderful people.

xoxo

I have good intentions of updating this thing, but repeatedly fail to summon the motivation. I have lost my blogging mojo, despite having many things to talk about. I didn't even make a ranty post about the federal election campaign, tearing into both parties for their terrible policies. Very unlike me, but perhaps my best blogging days have passed.

Here are a few dot points of things I should remember:

* recruiters put me forward for a job in Melbourne, but I've not heard more, so assume no interest

* interviewed for a job in Brisbane that was esentially the job I turned down to come here. Despite a good interview, I've not heard back, so assume they found someone better

* spent 2 hours at my local polling place on Saturday, handing out political score cards for GetUp!, which was interesting. Made friends with the Labor & Greens stooges, and two of the Libs. The third Lib wouldn't even make eye contact with the rest of us.

* fairly happy with the election result - neither party deserved to win, so neither did. The only thing that could have made it better would have been Christopher Pyne losing his seat, but I have been denied that pleasure. Looking forward to some Katterstrophic action soon (man's as mad as a hatter). Pleased to see the first Greens member in the House of Reps, along with the first (lapsed) Muslim and indigenous Australian. Also interestested to see what comes of Wyatt Roy, the 20 yr old likley new Liberal member for Longman.

* work is actually busy & looks like things are finally picking up - hooray!

* got a new phone after my loyal, 5 yr old Nokia finally started to fall to bits (still works though!). I now have a shiny new BlackBerry and am suffering a case of smart phone, stupid user.

* really need to get me some of that sleep stuff

* snow! Quite a bit of it on the mountain over the weekend, but I did not go poke at it. More on the way tonight, apparently.

Now, to sleep!

Braaaarp!
