Sunday Afternoon at Nudgee Beach

Nudgee "Beach"

Paw prints!
To a dog, low tide at Nudgee Beach must seem like Nirvana. It's not really a beach, being very much within the confines of Moreton Bay, and at low tide it provides a wide expanse of sand flats which just beg to be run across and dozens of huge puddles to splash through. The smells on the wind must be so different to those in the city. There's the taste of salt, and best of all, waves just the right size for chasing.

The big one's Jessie, the fluffy one's Sam
On Sunday afternoon Alex and I took the neighbours dogs down to Nudgee beach. For the full story, see my earlier post, but here I'll just say that running about on the flat with the two of them and watching their reactions to their first encounter with the ocean was a lot of fun.

Whee!

Sammy doing his very best "still"
It was also a prime photographic opportunity, and probably the only time I'll have a big enough land scape to catch the dogs in as they just cannot stay still. You've got big open spaces, textured sand, lots of water, big skies, and sunset. What a magical combination!

Something else a bit magical. <3

Time to go home...
