Cupcake overload!
Aug. 26th, 2007 09:30 pmSometimes I take a good idea and really over-do it. Last week was one of those occasions, when I made these cupcakes for a work friend's birthday.
Going overboard, that pretty much sums up my life at the moment. It's a madcap adventure, just staying afloat. Work, well, it's owning my arse. Stress has raised up its hydra head, with insomnia on the left, and digestive upsets on the right. I can't eat wheat at the moment, which is a pain, but hopefully that will settle down again over the next week or two.
This week sees the last travel for a little while, thankfully. I'm off to Mackay and Rockhampton. Last week I madly flitted between Townsville, Cairns and Atherton before landing with a thump and a cold. Next week I have to write a report that should have been given three weeks to do. It was reduced down to one today at a meeting with my boss. On a Sunday. Blech!
On a brighter, yet soggier note, it's been raining. It rained for the best part of a week, and the dam levels have risen a little; a short respite from leve 6 water restrictions. The garden is happy, but so are the weeds with no time to remove them. And the possums are stealing our strawberries, little buggers!

These were my favourites: rich dark chocolate cake filled with raspberry cream and topped with ganache.
So yes, life continues apace. I haven't much time for anything at the moment, and it'll be that way for the next month at least. I'm hanging out for the end of September!
