Back from Toowoomba. Work is going to be owning my arse for a while, providing, of course, that I get my job back. Must finish writing the application - due in Friday. 3 days of workshopping and testing the Project of Doom and we've created another 2 months worth of work for me, minimum. Sheesh! Anyway, things are still going pretty well, steering a more stable course and putting the shattered mess of my health back together slowly. Still going to take a while yet. Meanwhile, say goodbye to any semblance of a life until the end-of-year break. Bleugh :-P

Looking south towards Coolangatta and my childhood home, Tweed Heads.

Currumbin Beach is at the southern end of the Gold Coast, just down the road from my old high school. The beach is fairly small, bordered by Elephant Rock to the south and wave rock to the north. Beyond wave rock is Currumbin estuary, mouth of the clean and happy Currumbin creek, in which I have swum many times through my childhood in both its salt and fresh reaches. A little over an hour from home, this quiet spot is close to Alex's parents and away from the major tourist areas to the north and south. Not a bad place to be on a Sunday afternoon.

A true local haunt
