shapeofthings: (Beach)
Suffering from a serious lack of arsedness tonight. Even feeding myself is more effort than I really fancy expending. A combination of over-tiredness and general deflation. After having visitors for most of a week and a large weekend I'm home alone for a few days and feeling rather flat. I seriously need to catch up on some sleep and clean my filthy flat, but right now I'm just cruising, adjusting to being on my own and wallowing in my own lethargy. The cuddlesome one and Kelvin left this morning and are now safely in Canberra for a wedding they don't particularly want to attend. Pity they're in the groom's party then :-P It's very difficult when people grow apart, but one half of the friendship doesn't see it. I was supposed to be going down as well but decided against it - I really need quiet, stability and routine right now, rather than rushing about and dealing with a bunch of people I don't know/have issues with. Right now though, the boys are having fun, catching up with Mick and Mezz for a few beverages before calling it a night. Alex has taken the camera down with him too, at my insistance. I hadn't been fancying taking photos this past week or so and I thought it would be more use to him, especially as I know how useful it is to hide behind in uncomfortable social situations! As fate/Murphey/luck would have it, today I've had the photo urge again.

It's been raining since Sunday. The ground is sodden and spongy to walk on and mosquitoes are everywhere. It's still cooler than usual though, so the humidity is bareable and the rain is pleasant. Everything will soon be vivid and lush again. In the meantime, sodden crows are highly amusing - I feel as if I've had my vengeance for those 4:30am wake-ups. The looming weekend brings a great deal of cleaning up my filthy-from-holding-a-recovery-after-advent*jah apartment and suckering someone into helping me clean the fish tanks. Also planning on walking the dogs (it's been months!) and dropping in on some friends. If all goes particularly well I'll be catching some funky jazz on Sunday night with Brett and Ailsa. Meanwhile, because it's been a while between photo posts, here's a pic from Tassie I'd been saving for just such a rainy day...
