Last night my computer decided to shit itself. It's had a few issues since we got it up and running, with programs having errors and shutting down, but I was happy to just blame Microsoft for their shitty OS. Last night though, after having been on all day the PC threw up a message telling me MNSMSG.EXE had a corrupted file and to run CHKDSK. I ran a virus scan (Symantec - up to date definitions) and all came back clean. It them blue-screened, flashing up a message telling me it had encountered a serious error before rebooting. On reboot it ran check disk automatically and told me that an area of Windows data was blank when it says it contains data, then rebooted istelf again before locking up on start-up. I went the reset and it started up without hassles, but then locked up completely when I tried to do anything (anything being uninstalling Messenger as I thought it was the culprit). At this point I switched it off and walked away. Desperately hoping it will boot properly and I can fix it without having to reformat again. Advice from those more tech inclined than I welcomed!
Flat out with work at the moment. Took Wednesday off as I was run down and on the verge of getting sick, though that has meant I'm way behind and will be working late today. Leave on Monday for a 3 day workshop up in Mackay and much needs to be done in preparation. We may or may not be around this weekend also - hoping to go up the Sunshine Coast to catch up with Michael (phase_dancer) and his lovely wife, though I may be too tired to venture far, so we'll see. For now, it's back to getting data ready for the workshop so things run smoothy, though they never do, beign the Project of Doom (tm) and all...
*hugs* (cos I miss some of you greatly)

Edit: booted, ran Windows auto recovery, uninstalled Messenger, defragmented hard drive - so far so good! *crosses fingers*
