Hullo!
I got new specs a few months ago (damn expensive ones too), so I thought it was about time I modelled them for you lot. I also have purple hair, but it doesn't really show up in the photo.
So, 2009 is almost over, and I can't say I'm sad to see the back of it. This hasn't been the easiest year for Alex and I - at times just getting by has been a challenge - but we're stronger for it, and things are starting to settle down a little at long last. Hopefully 2010 will be better, or at least healthier! That said, it looks like I'll have to have another hit of radio-iodine or get my damned thyroid cut out early next year, as it's still not behaving itself and I have had more than enough! I would like my life back again, please!
Speaking of life, I'm doing my best to get one and am starting to socialise a little and meet people. Hooray! Our new neighbours are friendly, and not psychopathic, which is awesome and the new place is working out really well. I'm officially on holidays now for three blissful weeks of no bullshit, and on Tuesday we fly up to Brisbane for a fortnight of family and fabulous friends. I'm really excited, but also a wee bit nervous about it! Our parents are going a bit overboard with preparations and we're hoping their expectations won't be too over-the-top and they'll handle sharing us with each other and with our friends.
Alex is currently sat at the dining table, chopping strawberries in the late afternoon sun. It's a pretty sight. We're making jam (strawberry, lemon & port) for Christmas gifts, which means I've spent far too much time cursing manufacturers for using such obnoxious glues on their labels. Next time I'm buying a jar of acetone, I swear. The boy is doing the chopping since I managed to sprain my wrist winning a tickle fight the other night. Why no, I really don't like to lose... ;-)
Well, since this is likely the last post I'll make this year, I'd like to wish you all a very merry what's-it and a wonderful new year. Thank you for reading and for your understanding during some of the tougher moments of the year. I know I haven't been commenting much, but I read everything you folks write and this little community means a lot to me. Hopefully I'll be back next year with more words and better photos.
Sending out lots of love for everyone,
T.
