5 things you may not know about my time at school...
1. I started school a year early - this was a bad thing as my social skills never seemed to be up to par.
2. I was dux of my primary school, mush to my astonishment and the chargrin of the girl who thought she was getting it.
3. I took seven years to complete five years of high school: I repeated grade 11 then went on student exchange for a yer before completing grade 12.
4. Repeating grade 11 was the best decision I've ever made.
5. I once found $50 in a classroom and I handed it in to the teacher. I think I was 15, the same year I had an attendance problem.

5 things you may not know about jobs I've had...
1. I have worked in four cafes and been fired from each of them. The quality of my work was never the reason for getting fired.
2. I once harassed hospital patients for money - charging them rental for the TV above their beds. Arguing with sick people over money is not fun.
3. I got my current job through luck and the right connections. At some stage I will actually have to interview for it and go through a proper selection process which I may not win.
4. I worked as a receptionist/clerk for a year while I was saving to go back to uni and learnt an awful lot about rich, conservative arseholes and a little bit about accounting and business management.
5. I can cook 4 hamburgers with the lot, 3 serves of chips, 2 peices of fish and a pineapple fritter at once, given the necessary facilities. And yes, you can have gravy with your chips.

5 things you may not know about my online life...
1. I don't like the amount of time I spend on-line. I know I'm using the net to fill the stimulation void my job creates.
2. I used to post bad poetry on an internet board called "Golden Dragon's Rant and Rave" or somesuch. I still have other people's poems I liked saved on my hard drive.
3. I discovered the internet when I went to uni. It's been downhill since.
4. My first online name was gekko, followed by Silverwind and then coelacanth.
5. I struck up a flirtatious online friendship with a guy I met in a chat room. I was 19 and living at college, alone during uni holidays. He was 23, a metalurgist on a mine somewhere in Western Australia. We kinda cybered once. I freaked and cut all contact when he actually called me.

5 things you may not know about where I live...
1. My street as a heritage streetscaping order on it, making all renovations conform to the period and preventing wholesale demolition. Ours is the only block of flats, sneaking in before the order.
2. The kitchen cupboards are angled, so the top of the cupboard is deeper than the bottom. This is treacherous if you don't shut the doors properly.
3. I moved in to escape where I was temporarily boarding, with a complete stranger who nearly drove me to violence. When she moved out it took a week to get the stale smell out of her room.
4. Our building gets struck by lightning occasaionally, but seems to handle it rather well.
5. The body corporate lets me manage the small garden out the front. I grow herbs really well, but flowers always die.

5 things you may not know about my personality...
1. I over-analyse everything and generally think too much.
2. I am very susceptible to manufactured sentimentality and I hate it!
3. I dislike anger and try to use logic and rationality to diffuse volatile situations.
4. Leave me alone when I'm really tired.
5. I suffer from depression, have done my whole life, but have learnt to manage it so it has minimal impact on my life.

5 things you may not know I'd really like to have...
1. more clothes that I like, rather than my mother liked (oh, the joys of being a poor student and a strange dress size).
2. Longer bones.
3. Greater sponteneity and less need for a structured environment.
4. More energy. I am permanently run down.
5. An off switch for those nights I really just need my brain to shut down.

consits of a repetition of it's own most common subject?
