One day of work to go and it would seem I'm already in holiday mode, despite a long list of tasks to do



1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?

Got engaged
Tried lysergic acid diethylamide
Got a LiveJournal

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Don’t make any – only leads to self-disappointment

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

My friend Karen had Finlay in March

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Not very close, but Mon’s death hit me fairly hard. Also one of my uncles died.

5. What countries did you visit?

None (unless you count Tasmania as it’s own country)

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?

My manual driver’s licence!
A better work attitude
Good health

7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

Dec 4th – I got proposed to in front of a couple of hundred people o_0
Reanimator – just when I thought I was getting jaded I had one of the best rave nights ever!

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Making the “Project of Doom ™” happen

9. What was your biggest failure?

Letting my work ethic degenerate to the state it’s in and generally losing control over my life.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

I was pretty much continually sick with chest infections for 6 months, and I had big problems with my back for a while.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

Digi-cam! Though my car is pretty good too ;-)

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?

My parents, for listening when I told them our relationship was falling apart and working to get to know me again.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?

Mine, regarding work, John Howard and the media moguls for manipulation of the truth in persuit of personal gain, and Dubya’s , of course.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Car, followed by photography, as well as supporting Alex through a low-income patch.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Melbourne trip!!!!

16. What song will always remind you of 2004?

”The Streets – dry your eyes” had the most emotional impact on me

17. Compared to this time last year, you are:

i. happier or sadder? Happier, though it’s been a battle
ii. thinner or fatter? A l’il fatter
iii. richer or poorer? Richer, in every interpretation of the word

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

Looking after myself, getting out of the city, gardening

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

wasting time on the internet, stressing

20. How will you be spending Christmas/Hanukah?

Brunch with my folks, dinner with his. Reformatting my mother’s hard drive :-P

21. What was the most embarrassing thing that happened to you in 2004?

No stand-outs this year – It’s been pretty embarassment free.

22. Did you fall in love in 2004?

More in love with Alex than I thought possible, plus I fell in love with photography ^.^

23. How many one-night stands?

Zilch

24. What was your favourite TV program?

Invalid question - don’t own a TV

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

Nope. Hate’s not my strong point

26. What was the best book you read?

Cloudstreet was pretty good – I like Winton’s lyrical style

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Haven’t really paid attention this year. Developed an appreciation for hip-hop

28. What did you want and get?

A car, my job back, a good digital camera, trips to Melbourne and Tassie

29. What did you want and not get?

A year with good health, my honours paper written, to lose weight

30. What was your favourite film of this year?

Barely went to the movies this year. Lost in Translation stands out.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I threw an Australia Day sushi party for my friends and turned 25 the next day. Also went out the next weekend for Alex’s birthday – dinner at a fancy restaurant and a private booth at Family to see Armin!

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Not succumbing to depression, not getting sick, having a better attitude to my job.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?\

I don’t do “fashion”, but actually having money this year means I bought clothes I like, rather than wearing what my mother feels is suitable. Funky T’s and jeans became a staple.

34. What kept you sane?

Alex, photography, awesome friends <3

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

I’d do Ewan McGregor

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

Iraq war, gay marriage, free trade agreement, Australian election, American election. It’s been a year of political dissatisfaction L

37. Who did you miss?

Kelvin, Kelle, Ailsa – damn you all for moving away!

38. Who was the best person you met?

I met a heap of people this year, mostly from Melbourne. Wazza, Amanda Muzby have probably had the biggest impacts. Also met a bunch of awesome online people who have enriched my life: Gareth, Jen, Rob, you guys rock!

39. Most valuable life lesson you learned in 2004:

Good communication is invaluble and ask for help when you need it.
