The incredible detail of monotony

Another day in the office. In half an hour I leave to go do my CPR refresher course, then it's back to cutting and pasting information into the correct document format. Wooo. I could kill for some chocolate! Work is ok at present: the last draft of the Project of Doom has been completed and sent out for internal review. After that (and the related arsing about with policy chaning things for no logical reason) it will go out to external review, then probably another rewrite, another review and then *hopefully* done. yay!
Had a pretty good weekend. Decided to celebrate Alex's birthday again as last weekend neither of us were feeling particulalry well and I was rather grumpy. On Saturday morning the boy's parents came up and we once again failed to get the computer ready for them (it shagged itself installing the last of the security programs and needs reformatting again *headdesks*). Went in to Chinatown and had yumcha (dim sum) for lunch. So. Very. Full. Saw some lion dancers promoting Chinese New Years and made plans to return this weekend for Golden Rooster festivities :-)
Left the in-laws to go to the pub for a Bluelight meet-up. Turnout was somewhat disappointing, but we had fun anyway, ending up at the Zoo, chilling outover a few vodkas. We had vague intentions of catching a band night, but decided it was far too hot (the sticky weather has returned with a vengeance!) so went home and lazed about. A call from Brett and Ailsa resulted in a 9pm date at Freestyle for dessert in place of dinner - mmm mmmm! Home and crashed by 11pm, sleeping in the loungeroom to ease the swelter.
Sunday was hot by 7am, so after a slow start we piled in the car and ran away to the sunshine coast. Decided it was the perfect day to finally visit Underwater World at Mooloolabah. Didn't think much of the town itself, but the aquarium was most enjoyable. Otters rock my world! I also got sexually harassed by a fur seal (fishy kisses!) and glued myself to the weedy sea-dragon tank for a goodly time. All in all a good day, ending in icecream and the drive home. Whipped up a birthday treat of home-made nachos for an indulgent dinner and relaxed with some anime (Metropolis - so very Astroboy).
Still sleeping in the loungeroom as the still, humid weather persists. The week is as full as ever, with
katmeowster coming to visit on Thursday, physio appointments, housekeeping, photo-blogging and collapsing in front of the fan with a Calippo (type of ice confection). Should be a good one! Looking forward to the storms forecast for later this week and the coming, all-too-brief weekend. Now I'm off to go punch dummies in the chest ;-)
