Well somehow it's managed to be Friday once again and I've no idea how. THe only conclusion I can draw is that Time is far from constant, although how it manages to fluctuate is beyond me. Actually, I've read some interesting theories on the perception of time, including one that seemed at least semi-plausible: Time appears to speed up as we get older as the number of neuron signals per second slows due to ageing and cellular degeneration. At least I found it semi-plausable and interesting...

So Friday, and I am under-slept and under-prepared for the weekend launched full-speed ahead. Kelvin arrives at 8:30 tomorrow morning, so an early start will be in order. This would be fine, but my body clock is all akimbo and we're both very tired from Alex's new working hours. Getting up at 5am in winter feels extremely unnatural and somehow I just can't get to sleep early enough to facilitate it. I've always been the nocturnal sort: after 8pm in when my brain really kicks in. It's when I do my creative work and also marks the ideal time for essay-writing and assignmenting. Getting to sleep when my brain is in it's active phase is a non-possibility: the flesh is willing, but the mind is liable to hijack.

For all the pace of time, it's actually benn an uneventful week. Highlights included leaning I need a filling replaced and buying enough flouro bike-paraphenalia to outshine most khandi-kids. At least I'm warm and visible now. Brisbane is an extremely cycle-hazardous city and most days I have a minor motorist altercation. The upside is I have a new shiny flashy toy (a cyclist ankle band) to wear to Mayhem. PhEaR me all kHaNdI rAvErS!

So yes, the weekend approacheth, with Kelvin's birthday and Kelle's farewell to celebrate at Mayhem, followed by a quiet recovery at ours. I suspect last event's record of 380 nangs to be beaten. Anyone know if you can recycle the damn things? Eugh, the skin on my hands is peeling off from doing washing etc. on Wednesday.Three years since I worked in kitchens yet I still have Hospitality Hand (still, more pleasant than Katy's encounters with dissolving fingernails!).

But now it's nearly time to don my flouro yellow wind jacket and pedal on home, so here's wishing everyone a safe and fulfilling weekend. This tired fishie will attempt a Monday update; 'til then may all be well in your world!
