Sunday - blown away

On Saturday night the wind started blowing, gusting up to 60km/h. It blew and blew as I lay in bed, just listening. I'm like a child in windy weather - all energised and restless; no way was I sleeping. I finally slipped into dreaming at 3am. Awake by 10, the wind was still beating furiously on the western wall and shaking the trees in a fit of temper. All day it blew, leaves flying everywhere and the old gum tree sighing and bending.
Indoors weather, snuggling weather. The cuddlesome one and myself wrapped up tight and hid away. I always wonder where the critters go in unpleasant weather and wish I could invite them in to share the shelter on my balcony. But the only critters were ourselves (and the fish), so we busied about with the housework (wrestling the sheets on the washing line), then indulged ourselves with some baking. Almond shortbread my endeavor, chocolate hazelnut slice the boys. Treats for a day of inclement weather.
