carolune, so behind the cut you'll find 20 random facts about me...
1. I look like my mother. Dad’s genes are only evident in my wild eyebrows and flat feet. The rest of mum’s family all have brown eyes, wavy dark brown hair and olive skin. I know how I'll look when I'm 40. ;-)
2. I don’t own a television and haven’t done so for many years. I don’t miss it.
3. I believe in deep and lasting love, but if you’d asked me 7 years ago I’d have told you I was going to be an eccentric woman living in the hills with a big dog and a wild garden. A girl can dream…
4. I am wearing bright plastic bead bracelets that say “smiley” & “fish”, and a bangle with spiky plastic silicone balls. The silicone is splitting off one of them because I play with them too much.
5. I’ve kept fish since I was fourteen, and when I got my first job the very first thing I did was save up for a bigger tank.
6. I have experienced 240 volts of electricity first hand. Whilst in the shower. Rubber thongs (they're a type of shoe, peeple. Shoes!) are the bomb.
7. In 1996 I lived in Costa Rica for 11 months on student exchange. It’s an experience I’d highly recommend.
8. My mum is first generation Australian. Her family is Austrian, and Jewish.
9. My dad’s family is English convict stock, deported to Tasmania for petty crimes with a 7-year sentence. His father used to run the original museum at the Port Arthur convict settlement before the government took it over.
10. I’m a total foodie. I like the taste of my own cooking far too much. And red wine…
11. I wish I was more adventurous and did daring outdoor stuff like overnight canoe expeditions and mountain climbing, but I’m not motivated enough to make it happen.
12. I played soccer in my teens and adored it, but had to stop after I tore a cruciate ligament when I was 18. It was the first time I found a sport I was naturally good at and something my peers valued me for.
13. I tend to have an opinion on everything, which I’m certain can be very annoying. I should have been a philosopher! ;-)
14. I have tried LSD, and loved it.
15. I’m a generalist by nature, interested in everything and good at lots of things, excellent in none. I could really use some more focus and direction.
16. My sister and I don’t get along. We are polar opposites in our life approach. She is my only sibling, and I feel a little bad for not liking her more.
17. I have awesome friends, loving, supportive, smart and fun! I don’t know where I’d be without them.
18. Although I like gardening, cooking and baking, I’d make a terrible housewife! My personality is too demanding for it.
19. I am absolutely terrible at time management. I never do things when I should, and as a consequence am always chasing my tail and never get enough sleep.
20. I love my_cuddlefish_!!!
