It's been a busy week. Days have mostly been taken up with getting my job application underway, and evenings spent sorting wedding stuff and keeping my stress levels managable. I'm still sleeping ok, so that's a good start!

Last night, Alex, Farah and I went to the Tivoli to catch the Cat Empire show. Wow! I'd say the best live band performance I've ever seen. better than the Polyphonic Spree. if you ever get the chance to see these guys in concert, please do. They're so much better live than in the studio. So much energy and rythm! Samba meets reggae meets big band meets swing meets hip-hop meets funk. Not a single person in the room didn't have their hips swinging,

Alex and I havne't had a single home-cooked dinner this week. Things have just been that crazy. Tonight we're having a yummy pinot noir for dinner with a Margaret River port cheddar and water crackers. It's ok, I'll have fruit salad for breakfast. Tomorrow morning I plan to finish up my job application while Alex tackles the housework, then at 2pm it's my neice's 2nd birthday.

My sister is keen for me to come early and save Dad from her mother-in-law, but the application comes first. Alana and I aren't what you'd call close, but I'd definately save Dad. Except the application comes first. After Larissa's birthday, we're off to Rob and Lou's for Lou's post-uni party. Sunday sees celebration of my mother's birthday, and after that I have to edit my job application before submitting it on Monday. Fun fun fun. Thankfully next weekend there's nothing except Critical Mass and mass debauchery.

I gave blood today, for the first time in many years. I went to the proper blood bank, rather than the mobile vans I've always been to before. It was disturbing. A room full of 30 or so people, half hooked up to frightening machines to seperate out their plasma or platelets, then pump their red cells back in. It looked like human production farming. The nurse put my needle in where it really hurt and now I'm developing a lovely bruise. Such it the life of the 0-group blood donor =o( Never mind - the pinot noir is making everything feel better =o)
