I miss you so much but the time's not yet right to go home.

What is home anyway? )

Setting

This journey's far from over.

The fire's lit, the kettle's on.

My belly is full of cauliflower and kale masala made with veggies from my very weedy garden.

I've unpacked, done the laundry and made a small dent in the weeds.

There was a sprinkling of snow on the mountain this morning.

I'm home.

I've been away: 3 days and night on the sunny southern Gold Coast, visiting my family, old friends and the town I grew up in. The weather was gloriously hot and sunny and the people pleased to see me.

I returned to a very cold and grey Hobart last night and I have to say damn it's good to be home. You can keep your beaches and palm trees, just give me the Mountain, brooding over the city, the Derwent, grey and slatey today and the wonderful folk who make up my Tassie company.
