Because I'm a n00b...

Ok, so I'm letting geekhood down here, but I'm a dial-up girl and the world of ADSL is foreign indeed.

SO, my ISP tells me my ADSL connection should be good to go by Tuesday (yipee!). The problemo is I have nil concept of how to set it up or what I need! I have an ethernetty-bit on my motherboard and know how to do all the connection set-up in Winblows, but I know nothink about the hardware side of things. Like, do I need an ADSL modem? Do I need specific cables? Do I just run a cable from my phone jack to my ethernet slot or what? Like I said, n00b!

Advice and product suggestions welcomed. Pointing and laughing permitted, though I will pull faces at you in retaliation.

Pressure's building!

March madness. My brain is approaching dangerous levels of business as so many threads come together in one giant tangle. I'm working on 4 things at once at work, with ideas for a 5th being kept warm on the backburner. Also trying to sort out assorted computer stuff, do 2 serious chunks of photo pst-processing I've promised people and get job stuff on the go. To those wonderful people who offered to review me resume, expect to be called on that one rather soon as 3 juicy jobs have been advertised this week!

Also on the weekend agenda I'm going to the theatre with my mum. No one wanted to go see the Producers with her, myself included. I'm such a sucker for guilt *sigh* Fish tanks need cleaning (the last of the offspring have found new homes), plants need potting and paperwork needs sorting. Thankfully Alex isn't working this weekend, so I don't have to worry about the basic house stuff. Next week will be rather manic as the realisation that Easter means the month is virtually over bumbs deadlines forward. At least I'm not complaining about being bored any more!

Meanwhile, I'm just about to head out for a social evening of red wine and chatter witht he local Blue crew. Lots to do but we all need to take breaks, and I promised I'd go before it all got so busy. Should be fun, though I've been up since a quarter past five so I shan't last long. Not to worry, I'm manic enough right now to make up for it!
